Kirstin’s Odyssey: A Story of Transitions, Travels, and Transformation

Chapter 1: The Eyes Opened – A Journey of Discovery (Age 18)

My life was defined by transitions. Born in ‘75 under a Leo Sun, with my Moon in Aquarius and Ascendant in Gemini, my early years were shaped by the rhythm of the ocean and the solitude of the countryside in a small coastal town on the Mornington Peninsula, Australia. By the time I was 9, my family had moved from the serenity of a coastal town to a remote farm in country Victoria, where my world shifted from the comfort of the sea breeze to the vastness of open fields. It was there that I learned resilience, though I did not yet fully understand its significance.

At 16, my family faced further upheaval with my parents’ divorce, and this is where my body showed first signs of trauma through contracting Shingles. Returning with my mother and siblings to the Mornington Peninsula, I completed my secondary schooling amidst a whirlwind of emotions. It was during this time that I developed an acute sensitivity to change and a deep connection to the lessons hidden within life’s transitions.

At 18, my perspective broadened on a surprise family holiday to Los Angeles and San Francisco. The trip allowed me to experience life beyond the shadows of my early years. In the bustling streets of San Francisco, surrounded by the vastness of possibility, l began to let go of the lingering pain from my family’s struggles. This trip marked my first taste of freedom—of stepping into a world brimming with potential, where l could begin to shape my own future, unburdened by the past.
